A New Spiritual Home

A New Spiritual Home

As I begin to write this first blog from my new office in my new home I notice how very different it feels to be writing in  unfamiliar walls rather than those of my previously cosy intimate space. My inspiration was fueled by walls that had absorbed the energy of some of the many years of my work, the poignancy of private readings, the wonderful freshness of new students finding their feet with their own psychic and mediumship development.

And then there is the creative energy of previous blogs, meticulously planned classes and workshops, each one creating a life of its own and whose energy imbued the room and contents.

But there is also a familiarity in this new abode in that my possessions are here. Fragrant candles, books that I have loved and thank you cards gaze at me from different shelves and favourite pictures grace the walls. As I glance around I see that even in this place that I have yet to grow with, the memories and the energy of previously fabulous times, creativity and Spirit work are still with me.

It is said that It takes time to settle into a new home, often months or years. During this time surrounding ourselves with  things we cherish is as important as connecting with family , friends and new neighbours and inviting them over is another vital step in the process.

Something Old, Something New

Going through the transition of leaving the physical body and joining the vibration of the Spirit World is similar.

Before passing  the individual will have an established life with loved ones, familiar routines, somewhere they call home and moving out of that regularity may feel very different to the newly arrived Spirit.

Of course there will be loved ones to greet them on arrival at the door of their new spiritual home and for some that will be a time of happiness and release, especially if there has been illness or trauma.

Some will miss their loved ones who are still present in this life and even if they are able to visit and make sure everyone is ok from the Spirit World, the process will be different with those they love and care for.

Loved ones in this life may have concerns about how their Spirit loved ones are feeling and adjusting to a new life without them.

Over time a settlement takes place and the unfamiliar becomes the new normal. Relationships may re-established with loved ones parted sometimes many years before, and the new way of life becomes the way of life.

Communicating with those they love in this life and in the Spirit World without the usual known vehicle of the physical body is a significant change. It requires a different approach, a new set of skills which may need to be learned, and a reason why a Spirit loved one may take a little time to make their presence known or to pop in and say ‘Hello’ in their new way.

Those we love and have loved, said our farewells to and waved off from this life have really only moved home and their treasured and familiar possessions are the memories in their mind.

A New Perspective

Moving is a natural and inevitable part of life for us all and an opportunity for new experiences, new memories that become how we furnish our spiritual home , new friends and rekindled gatherings with loved ones when they come to call after we’ve arrived at our new destination.

I look forward to the coming weeks, months and hopefully years creating my new space with the fabric and furniture inspired by the experiences of wonderful people I meet and often from their homes on both sides of life.

Reading your blog today Donna, which is poignant to me and is of course never stumbled upon by accident, reminds me of the forever changing and flowing transitions, whether they be large or small, that we as human beings go through, on this side of life and continue to experience when we pass.
I am reminded to allow the flow even though I feel like I want to resist, and the old normal can depart allowing the new normal to take its place.
    Thank you
