Get To Know Your Spiritual Compass
For me there’s nothing quite like the start of a new year to reflect and re-evaluate where my life is taking me. I love this time of renewal when I look back on my experiences and achievements over the past 12 months and consider how I would like to live my life going forward into the year ahead.
Intentions, Intentions, Intentions?
For some this is a time to lose those extra pounds gained over the festive period with the promise of making good use of gym membership! For others it’s the intention to make more time for family and friends, find that new job, new car or new home. We all look to find ways to make life fuller, more meaningful, more peaceful and with a greater sense of achievement.
Seeking personal satisfaction is a vital part of our progression as human beings and we often look to others for approval of ourselves, to be recognised for our worth, to be counted.
The start of a new year is a time when I remind myself that I am Spirit first living a physical life. Although we all have material needs to keep our physical body sheltered and fed, doing in life what truly makes us happy is indeed the ultimate food for the soul and allows us to feel more, know more, love more, grow more.
Our Spirit is Our Inner Compass
Our Spirit is our inner compass. This often transpires as an instinct, a feeling, a knowing that something feels right or it doesn’t and if we tune ourselves to it and learn to trust the pulses, the compass will guide us to just where we need to be for the great life we all deserve to live, with our own feeling of satisfaction and self worth without the need for someone else to validate us. If we learn to listen to and trust our inner compass, the rest will take care of itself.
Focus On Achieving Your Goals
Recognising the needs of our Spirit by listening to its signals and letting go of patterns of thinking and behaviour that no longer serve us gives us greater focus on achieving our goals, allows us to live more freely with confidence that we know and understand ourselves well and become more at peace within ourselves and the world.
So What Can I Do?
So be brave, shake up your thinking and make this the year that you get to know your Spiritual compass and if you do already, spread the word and inspire someone else to find theirs.
Now that sounds like a very Happy 2016!!
